How Seed works,in plain terms
A launchpad for raises on Solana. Buy into an idea at one fixed price, paid in SOL. If it fills, the whole raise opens a Meteora pool that is locked for good. If it misses, every wallet gets back exactly what it paid.
The rules of a raise, the supply split, the two fees, team unlocks, what Seed enforces and what it leaves to you. Each section has the explanation on the left and the numbers that matter beside it.
Overview
A founder connects a wallet, picks the market cap the pool will open at ($50K, $100K, $150K or $200K), a deadline of one to thirty days, and whether the team keeps a share. Every raise is in SOL. The raise itself is derived: the cap times what the team does not take, halved, priced in SOL at the SOL price when the raise opens; nobody types a target. Backers buy in with SOL at one fixed price, plus a 1% fee on top.
If the target is met, Seed's program mints the 1,000,000,000 supply, revokes the mint and freeze authorities, puts the whole raise and the pool's half of the supply into a Meteora DAMM v2 pool at the raise price, and locks that liquidity permanently. Backers claim their tokens straight away. If the deadline passes first, nothing is minted and every backer takes back what they paid, fee included.
There is no treasury, no vault and no reserve. The money raised goes into the pool and nowhere else, so there is nothing to rug. What a founder earns is a share of the pool's trading fees, paid to a payout wallet, and the team tokens they chose to keep, which unlock on a schedule everyone can see.
Seed enforces a short list of hard rules in its program and acts on fraud. Everything else a founder decides, and the page shows those decisions as facts rather than warnings.

Lifecycle
A raise is live from the moment it opens, and it leaves that state exactly once.
- Filled. The raise reaches the target. It closes to buys on the spot, even if the deadline is days away, and seeding begins: idempotent steps that anyone can run. If seeding stalls, three days without a step, the raise refunds instead; a seeding under way is always finished, never undone.
- Seeded. The last step lands. The token exists, the pool is open and locked, backers claim their tokens, and the team's unlock clock starts.
- Refunded. The deadline arrives and the raise is short, the founder cancels it, or seeding times out. Nothing is minted and every backer claims back what they paid.
While a raise is live, buys cannot be withdrawn. If backers could leave early, a large wallet could fake momentum and pull out at the last minute. A founder can cancel a live raise, which refunds everyone the same way a miss does.
The buy that completes the target is trimmed to what fits. If 3.4 SOL of room is left and you send 10 SOL, the program takes what fills it and the rest never leaves your wallet.
The four states
- Live
- Taking buys until it fills or the deadline passes
- Filled
- Target hit, closed to buys, seeding in four steps
- Seeded
- Token minted, pool open and locked, claims open
- Refunded
- Missed, cancelled, or seeding timed out: everyone claims back what they paid
How a raise ends
- Fills
- The target lands before the deadline
- Seeds
- The four steps land with no 3-day stall between them
- Refunds
- Short at the deadline, cancelled by the founder, or seeding stalls for 3 days before the pool opens
Price and the supply split
The founder chooses the team share. Whatever the team does not take is split equally between backers and the pool. The price is the target divided by the backers' tokens, quoted in SOL, and it does not move while the raise is live.
Because backers and the pool hold the same number of tokens, and the pool opens with the whole target against them, the pool opens at exactly the price backers paid. That holds for any team share.
Your tokens are your share of the raise applied to the backer allocation. Fund 1% of the target and you receive 1% of the backers' tokens.
The founder is not asked to justify the team share or its unlock schedule; both are shown on the page as they are, next to the price they imply. A bigger team share means fewer tokens for backers and the pool at the same target, which is the same as a higher fully diluted value.
The split
- Team
- The share the founder set
- Backers
- Half of what is left
- Pool
- The other half, the same number of tokens
The price
- Raise market cap
- The market cap backers buy in at: the opening preset, the target divided by the backers' tokens times the supply
- Your tokens
- Your share of the raise, times the backers' tokens
- Example
- 100 SOL target, 10% team: 450M tokens for backers, 0.000000222 SOL each
Try the numbers
SOL and the opening market cap
Every raise is priced and paid for in SOL, and its pool holds the token against SOL. The SOL price is read from Pyth on chain when the raise opens, so the raise is sized in SOL once and never moves.
Backers buy in with that asset. The fee is held in it, the Meteora pool holds it against the token, the pool's fees are collected in it, and a refund returns it. Nothing is swapped along the way, so there is no slippage inside a raise.
There is no typed target. The founder picks an opening market cap from four presets, $50K, $100K, $150K or $200K, and the raise is derived from it: target = cap × (1 − team share) ÷ 2, priced in SOL at the Pyth SOL/USD price the moment the raise opens. Backers pay for half of what the team does not take, the pool gets the other half, and the whole raise goes into the pool, so the pool opens at exactly that market cap. The presets are the floor and the ceiling: there is no separate minimum or maximum. They live in the program's Config, set once at init. On devnet, in test mode, a tiny Test preset (about $30) lets a cycle cost cents; no mainnet build has it.
Everything is in SOL
Price, fees, pool depth and refunds are all measured in SOL. Dollar values follow from the SOL price at the open.
One raise, no team share
| Target | Price per token | Seed fees if it fills |
|---|---|---|
| 100 SOL | 0.0000002 SOL | 1.00 SOL |
What happens when it fills
Nothing is minted while a raise is live. The buys sit in a program-owned escrow until the raise fills or refunds. When the target lands, the raise closes to buys and seeding begins: four steps, each one idempotent, each one a transaction anyone can send. Seed's own scheduler sends them too, so in practice they land within a minute.
- Filled. The raise is marked full. Nothing else can change it.
- Minted. The 1,000,000,000 supply is minted into program-owned accounts and the mint and freeze authorities are revoked. Nobody, Seed included, can mint more or freeze a wallet.
- Pooled. The whole raise and the pool's tokens open a full-range Meteora DAMM v2 pool at the raise price. The liquidity position is locked permanently, and its NFT is held by a Seed program account that no instruction can move it out of.
- Seeded. Backers' claims open and the team's unlock clock starts.
If seeding stalls, three days passing with no step taken since the fill or since the mint, the raise refunds. That is the only way a filled raise fails, and it needs no one's permission: the timeout is in the program. It counts from the last step, so a raise whose seeding is under way is finished by whoever runs the next step, never refunded under it; and once the pool holds the raise, the only step left is to seed.
The fee rides on top of each buy, so the full target reaches the pool and the opening price equals the raise price exactly.
Where the money goes
- Into the pool
- The whole target
- To Seed
- The 1% fees held on the buys
Where the supply goes
- Backers
- Half of what the team does not take, claimable at once
- Pool
- The same number of tokens, locked with the raise
- Team
- The founder's share, unlocking on the schedule
- Opening price
- The raise price, exactly
Worked example: 100 SOL target, 10% team
- Backers pay in total
- 101 SOL
- Into the pool
- 100 SOL
- Seed fees
- 1 SOL
- Backers' tokens
- 450,000,000
- Pool tokens
- 450,000,000
- Team tokens
- 100,000,000
- Opening price
- 0.000000222 SOL
- Fully diluted value at open
- 222.2 SOL
Rule of thumb: with no team share a raise opens at a fully diluted value of twice its target; a 10% team share makes it about 2.2 times, a 40% share about 3.3 times.
The two fees
Seed's fee on buys. 1% of each buy, charged on top. Put 2 SOL into a raise and you pay 2.02 SOL. The fee is held beside the raise until it resolves: if the raise seeds, it goes to Seed; if it refunds, it goes back to you with the buy. A failed raise costs backers nothing beyond network fees.
The pool's fee on swaps. The DAMM v2 pool charges a flat 1.25% on every trade, collected in SOL only. Meteora's protocol keeps 20% of that, so 1% of volume reaches the locked position. At seeding the split is fixed: 70% of what the position earns goes to the founder's payout wallet and 30% to Seed. The split cannot be changed afterwards, not by the founder and not by Seed.
Claiming is permissionless. Anyone can send the claim transaction and the money still goes where the snapshot says. Seed also claims on a schedule, so a founder never has to. This is a founder's income from a raise: not the raise itself, which is all in the pool, but a share of what trading on it earns.
Opening a raise, claiming tokens, claiming fees and withdrawing a refund carry no Seed fee.
On a buy
- Put in 2 SOL
- Pay 2.02 SOL; 0.02 held as the fee
- Put in 10 SOL
- Pay 10.10 SOL
On a swap
- Trade $1,000 in the pool
- $12.50 fee: Meteora keeps $2.50, then $7 to the founder, $3 to Seed
| Event | What happens to the fee |
|---|---|
| Buy in | 1% held beside the raise |
| Raise seeds | Held fees go to Seed |
| Raise refunds | Held fees go back to backers |
| Swap in the pool | 1.25%; Meteora keeps 20% of it, the rest (1% of volume) 70% founder, 30% Seed |
| Open, claim, refund | No fee |
Founder's fee income by daily volume
- $5,000 a day
- $35 a day
- $25,000 a day
- $175 a day
- $100,000 a day
- $700 a day
Refunds
A raise refunds in three cases: the deadline passes with the raise short of the target, the founder cancels it while it is live, or it fills but seeding stalls for three days. In every case the result is the same. Each backer withdraws once and receives exactly what they paid: the amount that went into the raise plus the fee held on it.
Refunds are pulled by backers instead of pushed by the program. A push loop over hundreds of wallets does not fit in a Solana transaction, and one bad account could stall it. With pull withdrawals, every refund is independent of every other.
Withdrawals do not expire. Nothing was minted, so a failed token never reaches a wallet. Each buy creates a small escrow account, and the rent paid for it comes back with the withdrawal. The full cost of a missed raise to a backer is two network fees.
What comes back
Exactly what you paid: the buy and the fee held on it. The escrow holds every unit that was paid and owes every unit back; after the last withdrawal its balance is zero.
Example, deadline at 61%
- Target
- 150 SOL
- Raised at the deadline
- 91.50 SOL
- You put in
- 2.00 SOL
- Fee held
- 0.02 SOL
- You paid
- 2.02 SOL
- You withdraw
- 2.02 SOL
Team tokens and unlocks
A team allocation is optional and off by default. Off means 0% to the team: backers and the pool split the supply. When the founder switches it on, the team share can be anything from 0% up to, but not including, 100%, and the team tokens unlock either all at seeding or on a schedule the founder sets: evenly every day, week or month for a number of them, after an optional cliff, or on custom dates with their own shares.
There is no minimum length, no maximum, no cap on a slice and no rate limit. The program checks only what matters: the slices add up to exactly 100% of the team share, the dates increase, and the whole schedule is written into the raise when it opens and cannot be changed after that. Backers see it on the raise page as one plain sentence with the next unlock date, as a fact and never as a warning.
Unlocked tokens are claimed to the payout wallet, by the founder or by anyone else; they go to the payout wallet either way.
Backers' tokens are not vested. They are claimable the moment the raise seeds.
The three shapes
- At seeding
- The whole team share unlocks the moment the raise seeds
- Over time
- Evenly every day, week or month for N of them, after an optional cliff
- Custom dates
- A list of days after seeding, each with its share
The two rules
- Adds up
- The slices sum to exactly 100% of the team share
- In order
- Each unlock comes after the one before
Examples
- 15% team, monthly for 12 months, 3-month cliff
- 1.25% of the supply every month, from month 4 to month 15
- 5% team, at seeding
- All 50M tokens to the payout wallet at seeding
- Custom: day 30 (50%), day 60 (50%)
- Two unlocks, in order, summing to 100%
- Custom: 60% and 60%
- Refused: not 100%
After it opens
Once seeded, the token trades in a full-range Meteora DAMM v2 pool, which is a constant-product market. The pool's depth is set by the raise: a 100 SOL raise opens with 100 SOL on the SOL side.
Backers together hold as many tokens as the pool does. The pool cannot buy all of them back at the raise price. Selling moves the price down along the curve, and the first seller gets a better price than the last. Team tokens, once unlocked, add to what can be sold.
The table on the right shows what a backer recovers, as a share of what they paid, by selling their whole allocation at the open. It assumes nobody else has traded and leaves out the pool's own swap fee.
Selling into the pool
The pool opens with the whole target on one side and as many tokens as backers hold on the other. Every sale pushes the price down a little, so a backer who sells everything at the open gets back a bit less than they paid, and more so the larger their share of the raise.
| Share of the raise | Recovered, of what was paid |
|---|---|
| 1% | 98.0% |
| 5% | 94.3% |
| 10% | 90.0% |
| 25% | 79.2% |
Founders, reports and fraud
A wallet is enough; X is optional. A founder opens a raise with a connected wallet. There is no KYC. A wallet can have one live raise at a time, and a wallet flagged for fraud cannot open another. Linking an X account, at opening or later, adds a verified badge: the account shows on the raise page with its age and follower count. The link is checked by the program: Seed's backend signs a short-lived attestation that ties the wallet to the account, and the instruction verifies that signature on chain. A raise without one shows nothing more than that none is linked. The other links a founder lists (a website, Telegram, Discord, GitHub) are typed by the founder and shown as unverified.
The payout wallet. Creator fees and team unlocks go to the wallet the founder opened the raise with; there is no separate payout address to enter. A founder can move it later, and the change takes effect seven days after the request; the raise page shows the pending change for the whole week.
Reports. Anyone with a wallet can report a raise. Reports are signed by the wallet, kept off chain and shown publicly on the raise page. Seed acts on fraud; it does not referee disagreements about a founder's promises.
What admins can do. Seed's admin multisig has one instruction for a raise. Flag fraud marks the raise, blacklists the founder wallet from opening another (and the X account, when one is linked), and disables buying through Seed. It does not touch the pool, which stays locked, or backers' tokens, which are already theirs.
What admins cannot do. Withdraw liquidity, mint tokens, change a fee split, change a schedule, or take a refund. None of those instructions exist.

Reading the terminal
The terminal lists every live and seeded raise as one ranked table. All is every live and seeded raise; the other tabs cut it by stage: New ideas (under 50% filled), Seeding (half full to seeded), Seeded (trading) and Refunded, which sits apart because those raises are over. Above the table, the featured card follows the most active raise and Trending shows the ten most active, whatever the filters say. Each row carries the numbers needed to judge a raise at a glance; on a phone the same raises are cards.
- Market cap is in dollars: the pool's price over the whole supply on a seeded raise, at today's SOL price; on a live raise, the market cap it will open at. Hover it for the figure in SOL.
- Change is the pool's price against the raise price on a seeded raise. On a live raise it is the share of the target gained in the last six hours (+10% 6h), or Quiet when nothing came in; a filled raise reads Seeding while its pool is being made.
- Raised is what backers have put in against the target, with its bar. Fees ride on top, so they are not part of it. Backers counts the wallets that bought in. The Fill strip is the same share drawn as bars.
- Time is what is left before the deadline on a live raise, when it filled on a filled one (its button counts the seeding steps), and the seeding day on a seeded one.
- Quick deposit sends your preset amount in one click, fee on top. Presets are kept per asset. Like any buy, it is trimmed to what fits.
Finding a raise. Search matches a name, a ticker, a token address, a raise account or an X handle. Filters narrow each tab by Verified X and the safety chips. The star on a row adds it to your watchlist; the Watchlist toggle shows only starred raises. The bell collects alerts for the raises you star, back, hold or opened: filled, seeded, refunds open, a team unlock passed, a payout wallet moved. The watchlist and the alerts live in this browser.
Clicking a raise opens its own page in a new tab, with the fill chart, the team's unlocks, the founder (and the X account, when one is linked), the info panel and the reports. The terminal stays open where you left it, and the two tabs keep each other up to date.
Once it is seeded the page becomes the token's: a live chart (market cap by default, or price; 1m to 1D, with the raise price marked), the trade panel on the raise's Meteora pool (buy and sell with quick amounts, slippage, a priority fee and the price impact before you sign), the trades tape, the holders with Seed's own accounts labelled (the locked pool, backers' unclaimed tokens, team vesting), the top traders and their results, the creator fees and what has been claimed, and the safety checks read from the chain: mint and freeze authority, the liquidity lock, metadata immutability and holder concentration.
The founder's page (from the Founder card) lists every raise a wallet opened and how each ended, its fee income and claims, and its team unlocks. Portfolio is your own record: open positions, results by day, claims waiting (tokens or refunds), the history of everything you did on Seed, and for founders a Creator tab with fees, unlocks and the payout wallet.

The program and Meteora
Seed's program holds the raise. It is an Anchor program with one config account and, per raise, a raise account, an escrow for the buys, a contribution account per backer, and a program-owned account that holds the pool position after seeding. It takes buys, enforces the preset, the deadline, the refunds and the unlock rules, runs the four seeding steps, splits the pool's fees on claim, and carries the admin's one instruction on a raise, the fraud flag. Nothing in it can move the locked position.
DAMM v2 is the pool. The raise and the pool's tokens go in across the full price range with SOL as token B, the fee mode set to collect in token B only, a flat 1.25% fee with the dynamic fee and the fee scheduler off, and the position locked at creation. Aggregators such as Jupiter can route to it as soon as it opens.
Off chain, a Supabase backend indexes the program's events for the site, signs the X attestations, keeps reports and announcements, and runs the schedules that crank seeding and claim fees. None of it holds funds.
On devnet the program's upgrade authority is a developer key. On mainnet it moves to a Squads multisig. Any Solana wallet works, including Phantom, Solflare and Backpack.

Locked positions still earn
On DAMM v2 a permanently locked position keeps accruing swap fees, and only those fees stay claimable. Seed's program claims them and splits them 70/30.
Risks
- Price after the open. The refund guarantee ends when a raise seeds. From then on the token is a market asset and can lose value.
- Team tokens. A founder can sell team tokens as they unlock. The share and the schedule are on the page before you buy; read them as part of the price.
- Locked funds. A buy cannot be reversed while the raise is live. Your funds are tied up until it resolves, which can take the full deadline and then the seeding: a stall refunds only after three days without a step, counted again from the mint.
- SOL's price. A refund returns the SOL you paid, not its dollar value on the day you bought. If SOL falls while the raise is live, so does the value of your refund.
- Founders. The program enforces the raise rules. It does not enforce that a founder builds what they described. Reports and the admin's fraud flag are the recourse, and neither returns your money.
- Admins. A flag is a judgement call by Seed's multisig. It can be wrong in either direction.
- Programs. Smart contract risk applies here as it does to any onchain protocol, to Seed's program and to Meteora's.

Terms of use
What Seed is. Seed is a website and an open-source program on Solana that let a founder open a fixed-price raise and let backers buy into it. Seed does not hold anyone's money: every buy goes into an escrow owned by the raise's own on-chain account, every seeding step and every refund is an instruction anyone can send, and Seed's admin wallet has one power over a raise: flagging fraud. Seed is non-custodial.
Who may use it. You must be allowed to use Solana and to hold digital assets where you live, and you must not be in a country Seed blocks. By connecting a wallet or opening a raise you confirm that, and you accept these terms, the privacy note and the risk disclosure below. If you are a founder, you also confirm that what your raise says about itself (name, description, links, team) is true and is yours to say.
What a raise promises, and only that. A raise either fills to its target by its deadline and seeds a locked Meteora pool at the market cap the founder picked, or it does not fill and every backer takes back exactly what they paid, the 1% fee included. Nothing else is promised. Seed does not promise that a token will trade, hold any value, or be listed anywhere.
The fees. Backers pay 1% on top of each buy, held in the escrow and sent to Seed only when the raise seeds; it is refunded with the buy if the raise does not. Seeded pools charge 1.25% on trades; after Meteora's share, 70% of what the locked position earns goes to the founder's payout wallet and 30% to Seed. These numbers are fixed in the program's configuration and no instruction changes them.
What you must not do. Open a raise under a false identity, pretend a token or team is something it is not, use Seed to launder money or evade sanctions, attack the program or the site, or scrape the site to harm its users. A wallet flagged for fraud cannot open another raise.
No advice. Nothing on Seed is investment, legal or tax advice. The information panels show facts the program and the chain can check and the founder's own stated terms; they are not an endorsement.
Liability. Seed is provided as it is. Solana, Meteora, Pyth and wallet software are not ours and can fail; the program can carry mistakes. To the extent the law allows, Seed's operators are not liable for losses from using it. Where that is not allowed, liability is limited to the fees you paid Seed in the three months before the claim.
Changes. These terms may change; the date at the top of the page and the version your wallet accepted are kept in your browser, and you will be asked to accept again when they change in a way that matters.
In one breath
- Custody
- None. The raise's own account holds the escrow; the pool is locked for good
- Miss
- Full refund, fee included
- Returns
- Not promised, ever
- Admin powers
- Flag fraud. Nothing else on a raise
Privacy
What the site keeps in your browser. Your watchlist, filters, the wallet you connected last, the version of the terms you accepted and your drafts, in local storage. None of it is sent to Seed.
What Seed's backend sees. When you open a raise, post an update, chat, report a raise or link an X account, the message you sign with your wallet and the wallet's public address, so the backend can check it was you. Uploads (art, a deck, token metadata) go to Seed's storage and are public, because the raise page shows them. The X link keeps the handle and the account's public age and follower count that the badge shows.
What is public anyway. Everything on Solana: every buy, claim and refund is a transaction anyone can read, tied to a wallet address. Seed's indexer reads the same chain and keeps the same facts in a database so the pages load fast.
Analytics and errors. The site counts page views without cookies and without identifying you (Vercel's privacy-friendly analytics), and when the page itself breaks it sends a short error message and the page's address so it can be fixed. No wallet address goes with either.
Your country. At wallet connect the site asks the edge which country the request came from, to refuse connections from countries Seed blocks. The country code is not stored.
Third parties. Solana RPC providers, Meteora, Pyth, Supabase (the backend and storage), Vercel (the site), X (for the optional sign-in) and the wallet you use each see what they need to do their part, under their own policies.
Contact. The project's X account and GitHub, linked in the footer.
Risk disclosure
You can lose everything you put in after a raise seeds. A seeded token trades freely on a pool with little liquidity. Its price can fall to nothing, and the opening market cap the founder picked is where the pool starts, not a promise of where it goes. Most new tokens lose most of their value.
Before it seeds, the risk is smaller but not zero. Until a raise fills, your buy sits in an escrow the raise's account owns; if it misses, you claim it back in full. That depends on the program being correct and Solana running. The program is open source and tested, and no instruction can move the escrow anywhere but into the pool or back to backers, but software can carry mistakes.
The team share. A founder may keep up to just under the whole supply for the team, unlocking all at seeding or on any schedule they set. Seed shows the share and the schedule as facts and does not limit them. Read them.
Founders are not vetted. A wallet is enough to open a raise. An X badge means an account was linked, not that a person was checked. The information panel shows what the chain can confirm; the rest is the founder's word.
Other things that can go wrong. A stale or wrong oracle price at opening, a Meteora or Solana outage, a wallet bug, a phishing site that looks like Seed (check the address), a founder who disappears, a token that no exchange or aggregator lists. The locked pool cannot be withdrawn by anyone, including Seed, so a dead token's liquidity is gone for good.
Only put in what you can lose. Nothing here is advice.
